F.lli Ferrari – IAA 2016
Shaping a new age for truck-mounted cranes
Poviglio (RE), Italy, 02 August 2016. F.lli Ferrari, one of the longest standing names in the crane world, will display leading products from its truck-mounted cranes ranges at IAA 2016 in Hannover, Germany on 22-29 September.
This year, you can visit F.lli Ferrari on Stand A60 in Hall 25. IAA 2016 will be the 66th edition of the world’s leading International Trade Fair for Mobility, Transportation and Logistics.
F.lli Ferrari is proud to announce the launch of the first two families of a completely new line of F.lli Ferrari Cranes.
New Age Series
The 13-16 tm class, the first part of the new line to be launched, comprises 12 models:
- 7130D & 7162D
13 tm and 16 tm class telescopic boom cranes.
Designed to be used in car recovery and in all other applications where a compact, light and easy to operate crane is needed.
- 7130B & 7160B
13 tm and 16 tm class articulated boom cranes.
Perfect solution for cost and performance in loading and unloading operations.
- 7131C, 7143C, 7153C, 7161C, 7171C & 7183C
13 tm to 18 tm top performance articulated cranes.
Equipped with double linkage boom system. Made for complex lifting applications.
- 7131SC & 7161SC
13 tm and 16 tm class short boom articulated cranes with double linkages.
Designed for high loads delivery. Installation on compact wheelbase trucks. Used in construction applications.
More tm classes will be added to the new line over the next 2-3 years, extending the range from 8 to 150 tm.
The new cranes demonstrate a radical renewal, creating a new family of products which have been totally redesigned and reengineered. A structured design and build process from concept to field operation has included industrial design and ergonomic review, 3D development, Finite Element Analysis, prototype production, laboratory testing and field-based customer acceptance tests.
The new families are designed to cover all possible applications by offering top performance, ease of use and maintenance and the highest level of modularity in models, features and accessories.
Dedicated ergonomic studies and user preferences have created the most ergonomic working position and user-friendly interface. These facilitate accurate and safe operation through the control station which includes crane controls and stabiliser controls. A wide range of radio remote controls are available, as options, for CE and NOT CE models.
A variety of stabiliser features and configurations are available and the ability to select from two crane control systems (standard for CE market) improves safety and reduces the risk of truck capsize.
We are proud to announce two Innovations included in the new line models: Dynamic Load Diagram, totally new in the truck-mounted crane industry, which allows verification in advance of the crane lifting capacity based on the actual truck stability; and, Magic Touch which allows the driver to open automatically the crane from transport position to working position and back to transport position when required. Both of these features improve driver attention and can save time and increase productivity.
Other features include:
- Wide, 425°, best in class slewing angle
- Graphic Hetronic Radio, with a 4” colour display
- Regenerative valve delivering higher speed crane extension
- Robust, cast hook attachment
- Always the maximum lifting capacity using the hook and using attachments such as rotators, buckets and bricks.
- LED lights for night working
All Ferrari cranes are ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management certified.
Model from the New Age Series displayed at IAA 2016:
- 7173C (New Age): Top performance 16 tm class crane with double linkage boom system made for complex lifting applications.
These compact machines with telescopic boom can be installed on pick-up trucks, small lorries and specialist vehicles such as road trailers or small tracked vehicles. The 300 Series consists of seven models (310, 315, 317, 322, 326, 330 and 350), with maximum capacity loads ranging from 0.92 to 3.45 tm and horizontal outreaches from 1.9 to 5.91 m. All are also available with the “single hand” radio and a wide range of accessories. These machines can be provided with an electric power pack, for installation on vehicles without PTO.
The 500 Series comprises 8 articulated crane models: 531, 540, 541, 550, 551, 561, 571 and 581. These cranes have load capacities from 3 to 8 tm and horizontal outreaches up to 15.15 m. 500 Series cranes can be equipped with radio and a wide range of accessories including Jib boom on the 561, 571 and 581 models.
Model from the 500 Series displayed at IAA 2016:
- 541R: This “single-hand” radio-controlled crane will be shown mounted on a truck. The ergonomic “single-hand” radio remote control allows proportional control of any single movement of the crane.
The 700 Series comprises the following models: 710, 712, 714, 717, 719, 721, 723, 726, 729, 732, 736, 745, 746, and 749. They offer maximum load capacities from 10 to 50 tm class cranes. All of the models use the ‘Red Power’ solution: via a system of connecting rods, this confers constant lifting capacity and a longer crane outreach for top versatility in many applications. 700 Series also includes “SC” versions equipped with a short boom, which allows higher lifting capacity when fully retracted, and, lifting of very high or tall loads.
This Series comprises our biggest and most powerful models equipped with a shear ball slewing bearing rotation system. Two models are now available: 980 and 990 (NO CE markets only), with load capacities from 60 to 90 tm. Both are also available with negative angle Jib (6 hydraulic extensions). The auto-rotating stabilisers are available in both models (standard in 990, optional in 980), and the 990 is equipped with: Hetronic CAN BUS radio control, ECM and Sauer Danfoss PVG32 control valve. These models also feature other interesting technology such as 10 hydraulic extensions, three planetary slewing motors (up to 33% more torque) and integral base (reducing the height of the crane and the weight of the installation).
